Harry as England manager will be a mistake!
This is of course my opinion, and whilst I am not the best read at keeping on top of the situation, I do follow football and like everyone else who follows football, have an opinion!
Harry to me is a loveable rogue, he has done wonders at some of the clubs that he has managed, but he has never really made it. He has never been taken on by a big club, until Tottenham came along, and their big club status has been under threat for many a year now, and I think he has an unfinished job there.
If he stays and becomes successful and takes Tottenham on to great things, then in a few years time he may well be rounded enough to take on the England job. If he leaves now and takes on the England job then there is a great risk that that he will fail there as many managers before him have failed, because….
…I think that the so called professional footballers that wear the shirt are far more interested in winning trophy’s for their clubs that they will never give 100%+ to playing for England. OK, a lot of them are like that, not all, but tournament after tournament we as a nation a re disappointed, not that we don’t win, but our team do not give 100% – if we play well and lose to the better team that’s fine, but to lose to mediocre teams who on paper just shouldn’t beat England is a travesty.
So, whose mistake will it be – I think Harry will make a mistake to take the job on – he is a person who can get players to give more than 100% and play above their capabilities, a true manager in every sense, but he won’t succeed unless the players he manages truly want to be there.
Right, I’ve got that off my chest – time to get back to managing my own business!
