Originally from Essex, I came to beautiful North Devon twelve years ago wanting to bring my son up in a better lifestyle and enhance my career/business prospects!

From a very early age I have had a passion for business, seeing my Granddad work for himself as a pipe-fitter and watching others in my family pursue careers, I would say it is probably in the blood. I started my first business when I was about 12 years old, deciding to start a dog walking service I checked out in my neighbourhood who had dogs and targeted them with my handmade flyers and just like that I was away (if only it was that easy nowadays!) and before too long I have dog walking work nearly every night and ended up dog sitting whilst some of my neighbours were on their holidays.

Leaving school I knew I wanted to go straight into the world of work but also I had to continue to receive an education if I was going to get anywhere. So when an advert came up for a Youth Training Scheme running at the Bank of England I applied and after 6 weeks of apprentice style tests, tasks and interviews I was one of the lucky 12 chosen out of more than 700 applicants to start the training scheme in the purchasing department. This where I gained my foundation and knowledge for how business, offices and administration work. Plus I got to do really cool stuff like see lots of money and attend my first office party!

After finishing at the Bank I went on to work within the secretarial and administration industries for various companies including a computer software manufacture and a London based financial consultant (not fun travelling on the tube to London everyday!) After being made redundant I decided that I had enough of the hustle bustle and off I went to lovely North Devon. Working for various companies again in an administrative capacity, I was offered a partner position with a company called Driving School Office as their development manager. I took DSO from a dormant business with huge potential to an active company that supports many driving schools across the country through specialised web based diary system and telephone answering service.
